Why use UniCourt to search for cases in the Southern District of Iowa?

Searching for court records you need for the Southern District of Iowa from the Public Access to Court Electronic Records, or PACER, is a tedious process that can become expensive.

Unlike PACER, UniCourt gathers court data for all of the new federal civil cases in the Southern District of Iowa every day and gives you the ability to search through all of those new case filings in our CrowdSourced Libraryâ„¢ with no charge. Furthermore, UniCourt provides you with real-time, bulk access to the entire PACER database of civil and criminal federal court data from the Southern District of Iowa through our PACER API.

PACER will charge you for every case search you conduct even if those searches were not helpful to your needs. Additionally, PACER does not limit costs per case search and you can amass a mountain of fees for unhelpful case searches. Utilizing UniCourt’s database can prevent you from paying for extra fees.

PACER also charges you for document fees. The document fees amount to 10 cents per page. PACER claims there is a fee cap of $3, but that cap will increase when you attempt to access court transcripts. Furthermore, PACER will charge you for downloading the same document multiple times. However, you can download the same document numerous times for free when using UniCourt as long as the document is in our CrowdSourced Libraryâ„¢.

In addition to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa, UniCourt gives you access to court records for the Northern District of Iowa. UniCourt also provides you with bulk access to all federal court records within Iowa, such as cases filed in the U.S. District Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Iowa, and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Iowa.

UniCourt’s industry-leading Legal Data APIs provide Enterprise users with on-demand, bulk access to structured data from Iowa state and federal courts. UniCourt collects, organizes, standardizes, and normalizes court data from all federal courts and makes it easily accessible via our APIs as a part of our Legal Data as a Service (LDaaS) offerings for business development, competitive intelligence, litigation strategy, and docket management.
