Why use UniCourt to search for cases in the District of Vermont?

Seeking out court records you need for the District of Vermont from the Public Access to Court Electronic Records, or PACER, is a very costly and discouraging process.

In comparison, UniCourt gathers court data for all of the new federal civil cases in the D. Vt. every day and gives you the ability to search through all of those new case filings in our CrowdSourced Libraryâ„¢ free of charge. Furthermore, UniCourt provides you with real-time, bulk access to the entire PACER database of civil and criminal federal court data from the District of Vermont through our PACER API.

When utilizing PACER, you will get charged for every case search you conduct even if the searches yielded unfavorable results. PACER does not limit the costs per search, which can lead to an increase in fees for searches that were not helpful to you. Utilizing UniCourt’s database instead can help you stop paying excessive fees.

PACER also charges you document fees of 10 cents per page. While PACER claims the fee cap is $3, this cap will increase if you attempt to access court transcripts. Downloading the same document multiple times on PACER will also result in more fees. However, UniCourt allows multiple downloads of the same document with no charge as long as the document is in our CrowdSourced Libraryâ„¢.

In addition to the U.S. District Court for the District of Vermont, UniCourt gives you access to all federal court records within Vermont, such as cases filed in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Vermont.

UniCourt’s industry-leading Legal Data APIs provide Enterprise users with on-demand, bulk access to structured data from the state of Vermont and federal courts. UniCourt collects, organizes, standardizes, and normalizes court data from all federal courts and makes it easily accessible via our APIs as a part of our Legal Data as a Service (LDaaS) offerings for business development, competitive intelligence, litigation strategy, and docket management.
